This might be the oldest and fullest of all crafts because it involves the four elements: fire, earth, water and air. Its inception, related with the discovery of fire, was a revolution for human activities. In Michoacan there are vestiges of this in archeological zones, as is the case of Yacatas and the shores of the lake. This work begins with the recollection of raw materials, the perfect excuse for the artisan to gather his family in an adventure to find natural resources of clay and work it before getting it wet in preparation for the molding. The variety depends on the temperature, the molding and even the dry and ornamental process: burnished, smoothed, polychromed, covered in glass, among others. We cannot forget to mention the fine traces of Tzintzunzan clay that evoke the activities of the purepecha community in reference to the most iconic lake of the area; or the work of generations of the natives from Patamban or Ocumicho. A process that honors the nature and puts it to work in service of humanity.

Un gran maestro artesano posee grandes dotes en el trabajo artesanal y una trayectoria reconocida a nivel estatal y nacional. Su refinado sentido de la estética, del discernimiento en las formas y en el color, además de su puntilloso gusto por materiales nobles, enaltecen su importante labor en la conservación de las técnicas y artificios de la región.
